Spring 2023 Newsletter
The Early Book Society grew out of sessions planned for the International Congress on Medieval Studies (Western Michigan University, Kalamazoo) by Sarah Horrall and Martha Driver. Founded as an independent entity in 1987, the society was formed to bring together all those who are interested in any aspect of the study of manuscripts and early printed books. EBS now has 425 members in the US, Canada, Japan, Great Britain, and the Continent. Membership brings announcements of EBS activities, including the biennial conference, as well as the membership list and JEBS, both published annually, along with pre-publication discounts on books of interest to members, and access to the EBS email mailing list. Dues, used to defray mailing and xeroxing costs, are $40 or £24 for 2022-2023. The list of members is free to all paid EBS subscribers.
